Definately not a GT.

Definately not a GT. Counting fins, its a shark. You can see the eye, and that is has a large pelvic fin, second dorsal and anal fin. Looks like it has a pretty small tail.

Have a look here to match it http://www.fish.wa.gov.au/docs/op/op001/index.php

Weasel shark looks the closest to me, but its anyones guess (the tail fin would be slightly bent in the pic so it looks smaller than it is). The species might not be on the link though.

Guess

My guess from what I can pick out of the dorsal fins is that it could be a lemon shark, but I wouldn't be betting any money on it.

Cant see the top lobe of the tail fin in the photo. If it was long my bet would be a threasher shark. Might be a bit lightly coloured for a lemon shark. hard to say

Definetly a shark...

...the blunt head first made me think it might be a tiger but the relatively large second dorsal is a lemon shark feature. I also think the pectoral fin may be too large for a thresher. It really looks more like a grey nurse than anything else to me, but you wouldn't find them in Exmouth, would you?

Thresher

Threshers only have one dorsal fin so it discounts them and yes I have caught and released grey nurses up as far as Barrow island so they could be a possibility as well
