how to attach foot straps on a sandboard? any ideas?

i have recently picked up a cheap 2nd hand sandboard, i took it to a small dune and although it work really good i find it a bit hard to urn and keep my feet in place and this board doesnt have those black straps to slide your foot under to add stabilitly etc

so any ideas how to actaully fix the straps to the board?, without screwing right through as i think a nut sticking out will really slow the board down

i was thinkin of using the material thats used in a tie sown strap, that webbing, but cant fugure out how to fix it strongl on the board

thanks

Just use a couple of machine screws with countersunk heads from the bottom. Washer and nut and trim the end of the screw off so you dont gash your leg when you stack it.

Finding locations.

Easy to find good sandboarding places around Perth, just look for the signs saying no sandboarding near the beach! hahahaha

There are some nice easy dunes and big ones to the south of the Mindarie Marina Rockwall. Just walk along the beach for about 400-500m. North of Quinns has some nice ones too. Be aware though don't do it where there are signs saying not to, as you might cop a fine from the local ranger.

There are lots of places around Perth to go. A big thing that is overlooked is the sand type. Most of the dunes at Lano are crap for serious sandboarding as its generally too coarse, or on the downwind side of the dune too fine so you sink. Fine if you just want to do straight runs.

Some of the best dunes i've ridden are between the capes down south, Yeagarup Dunes near Pemberton, dunes on the south coast between Walpole and Bremmer Bay, Sandy Cape(north of jurien) and Horrocks beach. Fortunatly most of these place are also good fishing locations so its more that i throw the sandboard in when going on a fishing trip! Twice the fun especially when the fish arnt playing the game.
