How to wire up dual batteries?

Hi everyone! Going to put a second battery in my boat to run my radio,lights, sounder ect. How do i go about it?? Want to beable to charge both batteries when outboard is running. But only use one battery to start boat, and one to run the rest..cheers! Googled it but..cant find anything in my lingo

Just read it again and realized you want it to do it automatically. Basically the same wiring but with a VSR voltage sensative relay unit in place of the switch.
I just use the manual switch and change from one to the other half way thru the day.

Cheers mate! Thought it must be some automatic solinoid thingy out there someone must know about. Not keen on switches..as that involves having a good memory! Might find me local Auto sparkie tomrw and see what he can recomend.

Just have to add your batteries to it. Gives you isolators as well which is a good idea.

might be good to experiment on and if it works apply it to a 4x4
