Hows Harvey Dam Fishing Lately?

Just wondering if anyone has been out that way lately for a fish and if so how did it go......... as i will be burning off at my uncles farm which is 8 k's out of harvey and thought i could talk my dad into dropping into harvey dam on sunday for a fish out that way.

Thanks guys!

mate of mine went out there

mate of mine went out there on the weekend, and i went to logue brook on the trip back from pemberton, between 2 of them at harvey they got one rainbow, me and the missus got a rainbow each at logue brook, hers was a pretty nice sized one, about 40cm and fat..

honestly mate, i've fished both alot and if you just want some rainbows go to logue brook, it's the best out of all the dams for rainbows, but it's also got alot of carpet on the bottom so expect to lose a lure or 2..

if you do go to harvey, go around the back bit, not the side where you can go and look down over the dam (the tourist location) but over the other side where there's a small creek and what not, down there is the best spot for trout, the front of it is just riddled with redfin, i managed to get about 8 in 20 casts when i tried the front.

usually if you're catching redfin you wont be getting any trout, as redfin swim around in schools and trout make a strong effort to be where redfin arent.

Went there last saturday for a a wave of my flyrod, ended up with two redfin on a homemade wooly bugger, so that was interesting.

you are allowed to fish for redfin out of trout season, and if you catch trout, all the better. Just release them, which i do anyway.
