These are normal routed flights Rob not special charters. The cheapest Qantas redeye is $1100 which is on their nomal service schedule. It's a cash grab. There are plenty of standby 737's at Perth airport so no need to bring empty planes over.

but I do agree with you on this talk about price gouging needs to be looked at its profiteering it is as bad as scalping tickets if not worse as its a major corporation that's doing it

My missus managed to get me
My missus managed to get me on a friday night flight to Adelaide. A saturday morning flight to melbourne arriving just before midday :/ and a flight home wednesday. Staying with a mate while I am there who got the tickets on my membership so he's happy.

I am going to the MCG to support my team. its going to be an incredible game between the best offensive team in the comp against the best defensive unit in the comp. I hope its decided in time on in the last. and a win to fremantle will be exceptional.
Will I be disappointed if we don't win? of course. is the possibility of being disappointed going to smother my enthusiasm? no way. i pity anyone who makes decisions based upon the risk of disappointment. how boring would that be?
i am looking forward to the match ups, i am looking forward to losing my voice for the second week in a row, i am looking forward to the experience, primarily because i have never been to the G before. Nothing is going take that away.
Good luck to Hawthorn. I have a feeling they will learn very early on that beating fremantle is going to be tough. this is no foregone conclusion. where hawthorn expected to win in 2008? I don't think so. if your team are as cocky as you, they're in for a real fright.

Best place to watch footy is at the G I reckon.
Went there for Anzac Day this year, didn't get the result but awesome experience.

I heard someone on the radio today got around the huge prices for airline tickets by taking several overseas flights from perth before getting into melbourne late grand final eve....all for $652! One of the fairs was a $2 fare....take that rip off merchants!
