Had the same happen to me in Broome a few years ago. Major bummer. Now backup on SD card and my favourites manually on the good old pen and paper. Time to do a new backup tonite......
not the end of the world, for me most of the good stuff was tracks into creeks and through bars etc. all good, i guess if only i didnt maintain the "it will never happen to me" attitude!
spewing B-dog. At least you can start with a fresh slate this week at you know where. I supose a lot of your barra and GT spots can be found again by sight and memory but I feel for ya with the creek channel tracks though.
i have taken pitchures of every waypoint page and saved to the pc, print them out and you have them on hard paper without the manual writing. file in the filling cabinet as extreamly important!
every now and then when you know youv added extras do it again.
also saved on the navplanner, plus you get to go and play around with it.

Not good. Would never rely on a GPS alone to store waypoints.
I have mine saved to a MMC card, on computer and printed out on paper.
Don't won't to loose 20 years of spots.

Backed up all my marks before Exmouth and had my main plotter die a week later. Was a Lowrance as well.

Absolutey back up everything from wide spots - nothing worse than losing good area offshore.
Creeks and rocky outcrops will always be there though and arent hard to find....

Got me thinking now
I have all my tracks into the creeks stored too, I do back them up to the memory card but I think maybe pen and paper is worth the effort
