Depends if it has been recently graded or not. If it hasn't it can be pretty shocking. Also there are some really narrow tracks and steep dunes to contend with. I'd give the station a call and let them know the size of Van and the tow vehicle they should be able to help.
we went there last August. Our group towed a couple of 16-19ft boats with 4x4's and and camped at Lefroy Bay. The road in from the highway to the station is OK if you do @80km/h but it is corrogated with a couple of rough grids. From then on heading north OMG what a heap of shit of a track, numerous sections you are almost brough to a crawl with very rough corrogations and rocky sections. Allow at least 2hrs from the highway to Lefroy. Can't imagine it would be much easier towing a caravan.
We did see quite a few grey nomads with vans and a few rough heads camping around the place but I definately wouldn't call the tracks 'good'.
I was up there at easter and its exactly the same as Matt has just described. The only thing id add is that there were a few small rutts coming down a few of the hills on the way in, gotta watch a few of them coz they are just wide and deep enough to put you in a bad situation! I towed a 16ft boat in with me with no probs tho
It definitely is a crawl towing anything in! Pretty ordinary track and theres been plenty of traffic in there with tyres up full which makes it nice and bumpy. Make sure you call the station and organise it etc, they have put gates up into most sections now which requires key access, sad days unfortunately.
