Its Cray Time!

A great morning on the water for the start of the 2009 cray season yesterday.
We dropped over the side about 6am near Carnac. Only 5 keepers for the first dive – very surgy and trying conditions too.
Shot into Carnac for a quick snorkel and collected a few Abs and then back out for our second dive. Conditions were a little better at this spot and the crays were everywhere. I even managed two in the loop at once doing a blind looping into the mass. Most of the crays were 80-85mm.
Two big squid joined the party in the esky and it was time to get home by noon.
Hmm, whats for dinner? Abs for entrée, squid for 2nd entrée and baked cray for main, all washed down with the usual.
Cheers Pete

Yeah Brad, been a few pics of captures on the Marlin board. Was going to do one on the water, but it was a bit lumpy.
All caught in 8-12m Tim.
I don't blame them Goodz - it is a great beer.

Good to see someone doing well on the crays.
Yum, Crayfish Mornay and Pete's special home brew. That is hard to beat.

Plenty of crays out there
Plenty of crays out there Frank - more when the whites come in soon.
Give it ago Stingray - my favourite way to have cray. Split, mango chutney, diced cooked bacon and shredded cheese on top. 15-18 minutes on 180. Don't overcook.
Haha, the sharks wouldn't be interested in you scotto.
Cheers Pete
