Jet Ski area at Point Peron

Ladies and Gentlemen
The Navy today blocked off the entrance to the Jet Ski area at Point Peron. I believe the intent is deny access to the beach by vehicle, but the beach can be used. Jet Skiers will have to launch at the Point Peron boat ramp, then head around to the beach area and the wife and kids walk down from the road. Not sure of the full picture, but I guess it may annoy a few people and ruin a trip if you were unaware

yeah saw that when I drove
yeah saw that when I drove past today. Not a jet skier myself but very strange they blocked it off. Is it possibly something to do with the proposed marina?

minority of idiots trashing the place and ruining it for everyone again, just like horsebeach unfortunately..
Heres the word from what I've been told, JetSportWest are in negotiations to sort it out apparently:
after receiving certain assurances 7 days ago, weve been totally shafted...no thought went into design at all....We may as well pay our tax dollars to Gary the Goat---
""""We have discussed this issue with Coastal Infrastructure Business Unit of Department of Transport, who manage the lot which you currently use traverse to gain access to the beach to launch Jet Skis. We have agreed that access will not be restricted until such time as a formal approval can be organised to use this lot to access the beach to launch jet skis. Once formal approval can be arranged, a fence and gate will be installed and will have access through the gate (via a key) to continue to launch from the beach.
As you are aware there has been issues with anti-social behaviour during the evenings that has caused concern for the Navy and adjoining land owners. In an effort to restrict this behaviour fencing has been installed and Coastal Infrastructure are working with other land owners on a combined approached to better manage access especially at night time.
In the interim you can still access the beach through this lot to launch Jet Skis while we work through the legal issues. Staff from Coastal Infrastructure will be in contact in the near future to discuss formalising access and providing a key to any gate that will installed.

Unfortunately that whole area
Unfortunately that whole area may be off limits soon to everybody if the proposed Mangles Bay marina gets the nod.
And you can be sure they will have a monstrous exclusion zone when they begin digging out the canals.
