jetski over boat
Yeah thats true Matt but I guess it comes down to personal preference. I have a boat and also have a jetski and personally I prefer to fish off the jetski as its easier to pack and get ready, easier to launch and retrieve by myself, I can go alone and not have to try and find a friend to come on the boat with me. I find it more thrilling landing a fish on the ski also and in heavy swell I have 100% more confidence in getting my ski over the big waves than my boat. The ski also produces less turbulence and noise in the water than a propellor which is good for trawling and I will take my ski out in the sun or during heavy rain but with the boat won't bother going out in the rain. The ski also get excellent mileage, its extremely fast, very manouverable and get can me in close to spots where boats cannot.
I guess the other plus side is that when I am not fishing I can have fun on it with ski biscuiting, knee boarding, wake boarding (although the wake is small). I can take it out with my mates for some tow in surfing or just go out and jump some waves or just go for a cruise either by myself or with 2 other people.
Another plus side is that its really easy to clean and takes up less space. I am actually in the process of getting my boat tidied up to sell it as since I got the jetski I have not taken it out once.
Hope that gives an insight as to why I prefer my ski over a boat.

some nice fish there. each to their own about jet ski fishing but gowie77 summed it up nicely. if only one in a family goes fishing why not. as said , cheaper to run but its not for me

well put
well put gowie, i bet you've been asked a few times about advantages of fishing from a ski now.
i'm hopefully going to take mine out in the river on the weekend, if the weather is good, to flick some lures around.

Always wondered what it
would be like fishing from a jetski, do you get sea sick?. One of our neighbours down the road from us in the Caravan Park has his jetski all decked out for fishing etc. Must have a yak one day, have met him once. He might be up there at the end of the month when we go to Leeman, somebody did mention his name on here, friend.

Hi Roberta, yes thats my
Hi Roberta, yes thats my mate Lindsay Clark, he has a place in Leeman Caravan Park and whenever he is down he goes up to Leeman untill he fly's back north to go work. I have been out with him in Leeman once and we caught some nice fish. Good fishing grounds around Leeman. Lindsay catched heaps of Dhu's up that way.
First time I went out at Leeman I got sick but luckely it did not last, was over as quick as it started. It was the big swells and glasy see that caused it. Something about the glare on the water does not work with me.
Cheers

Hi JR thats good
keep my eye out for Lindsay at the end of the month, as I'll see his jetski out, when he rocks up, nice bloke and very helpful, the time old fart and me spoke to him. Think he lent his quad bike to the park manager to hack around in while he was away last May when we were up, hoping the owner of the CP in Leeman would buy him one, wishful thinking me thinks hahahah .
