G'day Mark, I use a Daiwa
G'day Mark,
I use a Daiwa Saltiga 55B with PE6 for sambo's and amberjack out back of Rotto - fantastic strong, light rod; great for jigging all day. This is the overhead model but also comes in a spin model.
Next rod I'll probably look for a Smith or Seed... The Jigmaster's also look nice...

Tell us what kind of fish you'll be targetting and what jigging style you prefer, also what reel and line class will you be using?

Off the shelf in perth,
Off the shelf in perth, probably Jigmaster/xzoga/smiths if you don't want to order it in, if overseas is not a problem, go on PLAT or similar and smile. ALso have a look on fisheads website in brisbane, he sells some high end import stuff. I have the PE8 xzoga and love it, and have mates with all the above recommendations. Sambos are not too picky, so I just go with what feels good loaded up, and the xzoga was my pick.

Lemax SlimMax
Lemax' saltwater SlimMax is a balsy rod that won't let you down, designed by the same bloke who does the Xzoga gear. Haven't used them but there are a few blokes around town giving them a flogging and have been suitably impressed with them.

Unfortunately JM rods dont
Unfortunately JM rods dont really seem to be available here (that I know of) so you'd need to order one in (and i'm not a fan of ordering a rod i've never actually tried out). I'm guessing you are in NZ Accident Prone? Do you get a good range of rods there or end up ordering them from overseas?
The smiths are awesome (and expensive :p). Though, the AMJ's at least could do with a softer foregrip. Gotta say I was pretty surprised how light the WGJ's are considering they're composite.

Yeah I am in NZ and yeah we have got quite a few top brands available along with some extremely talented rod builders who can produce custom rods which rival any other brand I have fished with.
