Kalbarri to Broome
Submitted by nickchris on Fri, 2008-04-18 06:59
Hello chaps...
I am new to the forum and come from the U.K
I visited and fished your country 5 years ago for a year. Coming back for some more action back on the west coast from christmas day this year for 6 weeks!! Cant wait!!!!!
Last visit I fished all over oz but stayed 6 weeks in kalbarri and landed some great mulloway upto 20kg along with sharks, this time I would like to have a go at Exmouth and possibly going to be heading as far as Broome... I will be fully equiped for the beach and for big stuff. Could anyone offer any location/tactic advice?
Any help would be great..
Thanks.
Nick

Hi Ya, Glad to hear you
Hi Ya,
Glad to hear you are coming back. As for fishing the coast north of Kalbarri, well, just about anywhere you can get to the water will be fine.
But Shark Bay, Coral Bay, Exmouth all pretty good and easy to get to. Not so easy but excellent are palces like Steep point but you need some pretty expensive specialist gear (particularly lifting gear)to fish well there.
Cheers.

Hi Nick
Welcome to fishwrecked.
Plenty of places to fish up here in Exmouth, you could spend months just travelling down the westside in the national park chasing different fish species with differing fishing tactics. Hiring a dinghy for the day is a great way to really get amongst some good fish and see some of the magic reef. Give me a heads up before you head this way and I will inform you of whats biting and where.
Cheers,
Adam

Thanks Adam.
I will be sure to get in touch before I come over!
Could you tell me where abouts I could hire a dinghy from please?
Had a snorkel on the reef last time we were over and it was amazing... cant wait to do it again...
What sort of tackle would be good to bring with me?
Sorry about all the questions..
Thanks again
