Hi all im going to Kalbarri at easter looking for a fishing buddy
Ive got a small dingy to get across the river to fish frustration I usally head over around 4-6 and stay a fair while
Ive also got a pontoon to take a small quad over if anybody has one (if its hasnt been nicked our washed away by the river flooding) I had a old honda trike which I used to take over but it got too unreliable
regards Mike

SAnd patch
I used to take the bike up to near the sand patch about 7ks up the beach the shack is still there
I used to walk up a fair way but when you catch a couple of mulloway and a few good tailor gets a bit heavy to walk back some times I used to have to do 2 trips just to get my catch bak across the river

Flood watch
Kalbari ison flood watch for this Saturday as the water from rain well inland finally gets to the coast. Don't now of the projected height as yet.
This may stir things up a bit with Easter not too far away.

Gotta drag my tinny up to
Gotta drag my tinny up to Kalbarri this year. Hoping it coincides with low swell so I can safely get out the river mouth. Heard scary things about it, but I'm hoping its on of those ones where if you understand how the water is flowing and where the reefs are, that with a bit of careful observation on a low swell you can still get out safely. More research needed.
If its going to flood, how long does it take to clear up? Want to go some time other than easter, but not sure if before or after is going to work best? May have to wait until it clears up?

River mouth
It can be very dangerous at times mate, but in a low swell if ur patient and wait for the rite opertunity it can be very safe. Ive been back through it a few times on 2.5m swell and a 15kt sw wind in my 4.8m runabout, its all about the timing and picking the rite line. Best advice and what alot of people say, sit up top in the car park and watch it for a while 1st, it does get decieving when ur going through. just make sure everything is tied down incase of the chance that u have to give it alot more throttle.

Going there this weekend
Just when they have another flood coming through DOOOOHHHHH!
Ive done the rivermouth crossing in my kayak twice no problems, although I will give it a miss this weekend the way the weather and river is looking
Was looking forward to chasing some Mackies out the front in the yak, but mother nature has other ideas!
