Hi mate, I would start in town of the jetty at the river mouth for a mulloway fairly good chance at night time. You can also try down at lucky bay/wagoe good tailor down that way and if you put the hours in might be lucky with a snapper and there's always plenty of tailor at wittecarra creek. Good luck buddy.

Was up there last week - bugger all tailor around off the usual haunts like wittecarra, red bluff etc. A few of the locals I spoke to said the tailor action had been mediocre this year - possibly to do with the currents.

Spent an evening at the mouth with some mullet fillets out. Got smoked by something decent on 6kg mono - stupid mistake but I was planning on the heavier setup going off. After its first good run I made a heap of ground on it - acting like a solid lump then it took off again, heaps of head shakes and a solid surge for the ocean then "ping".

Plenty of good okay sized whiting in the river and wittecarra. Interesting that I've been to Kalbarri four times now in past 2.5 years and this is the first trip I've not seen or caught a blowie in the river.

Heaps of good sized black bream, giant herring and small mulloway way up river but you will need a 4x4 to get up there. Found an awesome spot with a little rock ledge overhanging the river. My 5 year old daughter caught her first ever mulloway - 35 to 40cm - on a shimano lipsticks 5' rod with Sienna 1000. Completely unassisted. My 8 year old daughter caught a slightly bigger one but busted it off near landing.

Did not get to fish frustrations or oyster reef as no access to other side. I'm assuming those haunts will never let you down if you can get over there.

The coastal cliffs would probably also be a safe bet but being a family trip I didn't go to those sorts of spots.
