HI guys, got my new motor now and me new sounder from Russ and Sandy..so im keen to head out and give them a try off Hillarys. Was thinking of chasing some king george. Was wondering if anyone could tell me what depths i should be looking at, and what kind of ground.....also has anyone ever caught any off there before? Cheers Wade

Can't help you boating wise Wadetolley
But I have caught a couple of the Hillary's rockwalls recently so they must be around the area.

Look for patches of sand and
Look for patches of sand and weed bottom. I have caught them at different depths. The sand and weed banks just before Rotto are a definite. Use whole or half mulies, fresh squid don't be scared to use a good size bait.
Good luck

Offshore KG hunt!
The broken coral & coral weed patches in the 32-35m is a good spot to look at, need to look at 1m rises in coral weed/growth with a good colour sounder. Small hooks 2/0 and skinned ocky, works for me!
The 17-30m area holds fish also, work the contour edges!
All the best!
