Land-based fishing

 Hey everyone,

Well my birthday is coming up and I am planning to go fishing somewhere, was hoping to catch some bread and butter fish along with a bigger rod for maybe a bigger fish or a ray or a shark? Can anyone help me with any spots that I might be able to get something a bit bigger? Last birthday we went to Rockingham Jetty and I got a little Mulloway of about 14kg (which was released) Will be fishing from about 3 in the arvo to about 2 or 3 in the morning so will be happy to wait a while if its worth it. Any help would be much appreciated:)

Cheers, Vinnie

Hey Vinnie,

Are you aiming to fish SOR? I dont have much experience down there but have I've fished preston beach and tims thicket. If you find a nice gutter you might be in for a shot. Otherwise depends how far you want to drive.

Some of the other Southern members might be able to help more.

How far you willing to travel? I would wait to see the weather and pick a spot depending on that.

A "little" 14kg mully from rockingham jettys is no mean feat.

The surf beaches madora, secrets, golden bay etc is worth a go this time of year. Other than that would try the moles for snapper or head nor
