That is a Daiwa Moonraker DieHard
Not really made for 50kg plus rays, but it does the job.

Lol Ruben The old Stradic did well
The ray took a few hundred metres on its first run, but the Stradic managed to turn it just before it crossed the reefs.

We did not ask him
To take the hook, And we had to get him back into the water somehow
Maybe if abit of blood put you off, You should give up fishing yourself
He went back in to the water ok, And will live longer than both of us till

Spot on Jamie
My arms were aching for awhile after that. When those get sideways into the current they take a lot of moving.

Last time I looked at golden
Last time I looked at golden bay there was no gutters whatsoever, 100m of sandbank knee deep :( . Will probably be having another look some time this week. Let us know how you go.

Yep no gutters
Last report from the Inlaws was that there were no fish whatsoever a few weeks back. Hopefully the gutters will start to form once the swell from today and tomorrow has a chance to shape something.
I might head down on the weekend as my girls are down there for four days while I'm still stuck at work.
Cheers

Thanks Russ and Sandy
Luckilly I had mad man Sherbs to wrestle the ray once I got it shore and to get the hooks out of its mouth before sending it on its way.
