We towed a 6.7metre fibreglass to exmouth with my brother inlaws grand cherokee 5.7 v8 and that was fantastic heaps of grunt-bit thirsty though. Not a bad price either and has all the fruit. Not sure how it would go off road though-low profile tyres ?. But if it only for towing the boat might be worth a look ??

if by work mate your talking about the box pieces of crap like this one

have you ever driven one?? we have them onsite they are uncomfortable with very little leg room and ride like a pig! i certainly wouldnt even bother going anywhere near one when you could get a 200 series! there is no comparison

Same here, shifting gear is like tapping the brakes. It'll depend on some options here and there, but zero comfort would be close.

200 series "standard" gx
There is now also a 200 series gx, which has barndoors like the old 100 standard, but has the twin turbo v8 with some of the comfort of the gxl, but not quite as overdone on the other luxury stuff.
It would be my choice if they were a bit cheaper...

as you can see jig head im pretty fond of them
im 6 foot 4 and i would like to remove the front seat so i can drive it from the rear as the leg room given means i have to spread my legs around the steering wheel just to fit! id hate to see what would happen if i had an accident! dont think there would be much left of my bottom half!
i hate nissans but i think i would buy one before buying one of these heaps!
if you havent got the money for the 200 series look for a decent 100 series diesel.
and no im not a nissan driver ive got a 100 series

landcruiser
I'm not 6 foot 4 mate but I fit quite well into mine. Obviously if you are looking for all the bells and whistles these are not the car for you but as a reliable workhorse you'd be struggling to find better. My last car was a standard 100 series landcruiser and I will admit it was more comfy than the 76 but the latter more than makes up for that with the new donk. The reason I chose the 76 over the 200 is that as I like to bash through the bush quite a bit the overall bigger size of the 200 was a major disadvantage. The 76 requires a long range tank to be fitted as the standard one is not really large enough.

200S Landcruiser
Dont even think the work mate. But as mentioned I have a 2007-8 Model, and it HAS a oil issue. No wonder how much I have complained to the dealers they just palm it off. For such a stunning history as Landcruiser's have it is just about the only issue you will find so far.

I've got a 200 and love it. I reckon the workmate 70 series wagon you are talking about is just fine too. As others have said, not much comfort but its basically the same old 70 series with a better engine (there are a lot of other differences but not worth mentioning). Easy to self service and repair if you are sued to doing that youyrself. It will tow what you want no problem. Depends how important comfort is to you I guess.
