Last minute Wagoe trip

Decided today myself and brother will be heading up to Wagoe Friday and fishing sat/sun, weather is looking pretty good for Saturday particularly. I have been there for a few days over xmas but didn't do any fishing as it was blowing 30-knt southerlies the whole time but did get to scope the place out. Just wondering what peoples opinions would be of where to fish and what for this time of year (no easterlies forecast). is it even worth going all the way up there this time of year. We'll likely stay at the Wagoe chalets camp site, so thinking either fishing out the front on the reef for snapper and the likes or driving down to lucky bay to fish the beach for Mulloway. Also keen for the chance of small sharks. Happy to hear FW members advice and any recent reports.
thanks/Ben

if swell is up or wind is shit then just cruise along beach till you find a gap in the reef and hey presto. plenty of gaps

if its real ugly head along beach to lucky bay all the way to the big gap in the outta reef and hey presto

Go to the lagoon and fish in

Go to the lagoon and fish in front of there if the swell is down. Snapper, Tailor, Mulla's, Spangled Emperor, Sharks, I've caught from there.

I generally try to fish away from the reef as you lose too much tackle so just drive along the beach and look for sand patches between the reefs and fish there.

I have tried when the seas are flat to fish on the edge of the reef just using a big float and a long leader with snelled hooks and some fresh squid but never caught nothing but at least you won't loose your tackle.

If the swell is up go to Lucky Bay as that is always fishable. Look for gutters and you'll catch good sized whiting, Tailor, Dart, Mulla's. I usually go right of the shacks and just look for a good place to fish. Berley up the water and you never know what you'll catch

thanks mate, great first post! I wasn't sure if you could get around the front of the lagoon, but i suppose the forecast 1.3m swell might be ok to walk around there.

thanks/Ben
