LBG fishing Bali. Anyone been there and done it?

Im looking at heading over to Bali in the next few months. Would like to do a bit of LBG fishing with GT's and such in mind.

Has anyone used any local LBG safari style charters?? Any that can be recommended.?

Just looking for any basic help to get me started.

Im not looking to get stuck into the crazy drinking and party life over there. Just keen on exploring some more remote areas that may offer a bit of serious LBG fishing action, along with a place to relax with my lady.

Cheers for any help you can give.

George.

My girlfriend enjoys fishing as well so will be a fun activity for the both of us.

Not the best expert on Bali

Not the best expert on Bali fishing, we went out of nusa Dua a few years back trolling for the days no hook ups, saw a few sail fish and hundreds of dolphins, I think they have over fished the area.

Well I went out last

Well I went out last Christmas (2011) on one of the charters out of Nusa. We trolled the bali sea over to Nusa Lembongan and got bonito up to about 2kg on the way over. The locals reckoned it wasnt the right time of year to be trolling those waters. Once we got to those islands though we got a couple of big hits on surface lures and one of the boys managed a small GT. We didnt stay for long however as we were running out of day and the others wanted to fish some reef which ended up being none productive.

I cant remember the name of the charter but it was a pretty relaxed day and not bad.

There are a few charters avaliable so have a good look around. Prices vary and the gear varies as well to match. If I was to do it again I would aim to have more of a plan. The guys I went with werent really fishermen and we were hungover which dint help the decission making. I'd also consider taking a few lures of my own as you pay to replace all lost tackle and it didnt seem cheap for what it was.

I went on a coral fishing

I went on a coral fishing charter a few months back out of Nusa Dua. Total waste of time.. The boat didn't look like the one on the pamphlet, between 5 of us only two tiny fish were caught and the rods/rigs were unsuited for bottom fishing. Maybe look up trolling around Lembongan, that's supposed to be good for GTs etc

mate, i went for a walk along the beach paid some guy who had a little dug out with a motor 200 for me and my dad to take us out trolling from 6am to 4pm. I cought 2 wahoo, one bit through at the boat and the other was landed, on the last pass around the southern tip of bali, i got a big mahi mahi. was great day, the guy was nice, and altough the boat was small if felt safe. We stayed at kuta area, and just asked the boat owners along the beach.
