Lead

Hey guys I've been loosing to many sinkers so the other day I bought a mould to make my own...

Just wondering where you all get your lead from whe making yours. Surely there's an alternative to buying new roll... And the salvage yards around are dry...

Cheers in advance for any info

I get used but clean sheets, from Wnnerroo Recycling in Wangara. I got 100Kgs, which is not that big sized, rolled, and melted them to ingots. $2-2.50 a kilo .... since I started casting my sinkers, I don't lose any ... lol ... I even use less strength line to connect the sinker to the rig, and still

Cheers

I get all my lead for free

I get all my lead for free :)

If you have a mate in the earth moving industry get them to keep the batteries. Me and a workmate busted up 4 caterpillar batteries the other day for about 50 kilos of sinkers maybe more. We melt it down once on a metal bench top to remove the impurities then melt into the molds, perfect and all on work time! Hardest part is getting it on the plane home.
