OK here is a question for the brim boys and girls , if flurocarbon is clear and fish are unable to see it why do you go down to say 4 pound fluro if the fish are finicky / shy surely if fish can't see it what does it matter if you use 4 , 6 ,8 10 or 20 lb leader .
I can't see what the diff 4 pound would have over say 10 pound if flurocarbon is what they all say it is ?????

Good point mav......i usally
Good point mav......i usally go as light as possible becasue i think its a little stronger than mono leaders. I also played with the thinkneses at abrohlos when we were there and found that fish hit the lighter one harder so i put it down to the thinner it is the more action it was implying on the lure, which in turn also the thinner it is the smoother it can flow through water ie less surface area the better if that makes sence. Thats all i can think is why! Bream seem to do the same thing, when u use 10lb you can fish a snag with no success but change to 6lb and get smashed first cast! It must be the action it creates rather than if the fish can see it or not. Just my opinion.

Flourocarbon leaders are
Flourocarbon leaders are also stiffer than mono leaders so to reduce as much restriction on the lure as possible therefore the lure will swim as life like as possible. Despite flourocarbon being invisible underwater you'll never get it "fully" invisible as other factors affect it. Ie. knots and nicks and kinks in the line can make it less invisible. Thats the reason why people go down in sice to reduce the diameter of the line, so less for the fish to see.
