Leaving your car at fortescue river mouth

Just seeing how safe it is to leave your car and trailer at fortescue river mouth when heading to the monties. Or what is the safest out of the three launching options. Damper, 40mile or fortescue. Cheers fellas and Sheila's

Id expect all of those options to be good , ive left my car and trailer at dampier plenty of times over night, and depending when your at 40 mile the holiday oldies would keep an eye out for people acting odd, fortesque is past the mine site and pretty isolated so i think it would be ok

Not had any issues or heard of any. Just dont leave anything that looks of value obvious in the car, standard really.

Depending on what time of the year you go you can always ask one of the caravan guys if you can park your car and trailer at their camp site in exchange for a couple of fish when you return.
I've never had an issue leaving my car and trailer at the mouth though. Like Ads said, don't leave anything valuable in eyesight, I think the fact that you now need to cross the haul road to get to the river has turned most of the undesirables away.

Sun, 2017-03-19 14:15

have done the trip 7 times or so but from onslow, but question for the guys who have left from fortescue, do you fuel the boat and jerries etc up at the roadhouse ? just trying to work out the price vs dragging the extra weight up the highway ?

cheers
