lesson learnt
Well with a day off yesterday and some nice weather i decided to head out on the river for a cruise and head over to carnac for a little while.
With the boat stored elsewhere and not being used for a few months i thought best bet turn the key and see if i have power..............nil, dead not a ounce of juice.
Checked the batteries and found the number one battery which is stored below deck level was full of water in the battery box, turns out last time i used the boat i must have forgotten and left the bung in and with all the rain we have had, the boat apparently was storing a bit of water. dohhhhhhhhhh
This in turn would have shorted the battery , drained the other one. So off to all boat business to get a new one, luckily once the new one was in it was all sorted, now to charge the number 2 battery and hope its ok, but im doubtful, so looks like im up for another battery as well.
At least it all got sorted in the end, though a few hundred dollars later we were out on the water.
Seen plenty of sea lions on the water , watching one eating a small banjo shark throwing it around, amusing the kids on the boat, then it was time to head back, cruising along i heard alot of cheering coming from a cray boat with a party on board, so over for a little closer look and wow couldnt believe my eyes, a chick was there amongst the guys totally starkers, jumping up and down stirring up all the passer by's, lol i almost got a slap when i said i might turn around and have a better look LOL.
Also good to see plenty of dolphins in the river.
