is this line any good ?

I have the chance to get some fishing line for next to nothing
It is a 'hollow' line possibly 'dacron'
white/cream in color, with one dark grey/blue thread wound through it
It is roughly as thick as string, (does NOT look like string) and wound onto a damaged hand line, it looks like it would be good for 20 plus Kg fishing at least - I think - but I will admit up front I have no clue at all.
I've looked on various fishing adds on the net but can't see it advertised anywhere so thought I should ask the guys who use the stuff.
It is not shiny like Mono
It is hollow
it is round
Thanking you all in advance

round hollow white string,
round hollow white string, might catch a fish with no eyes? definitely sounds like dacron though, i've never used it and don't see the point in it? think they use it for gamefishing (with a leader attached) what do you plan on using it for? as long as you attach a leader to it it should work i guess

Just my own thoughts :)
I'm going to use it on my boat rod ( Penn Powerstick Pro 1055HG ) with a Fin-Nor offshore OFL30 reel, I loaded it last night and it fills the reel fully.
Yes, I understand the line may be seen by the fish, so I will use a few mtrs of clear leader at the end
It looks like it's a heavy duty type product and it has tied to the leader nice and firmly

Sounds like the string the old butchers used to tie the chops wrapped in white butchers paper with.

Dacron
Sounds like some kind of old style Dacron. Should be ok with a decent length of leader
