Logo Free Fishing Shirts
Over the years I have become frustrated with not being able to purchase a good quality fishing shirt that isn’t plastered with heaps of logos making me look like a billboard. I don’t get it where you have to pay heaps for the shirts just to advertise for those that you give the cash to.
As an element of a fishing related family business that we are establishing, I have put together a few logo free shirt designs. It is likely that at some stage I will sell these through FishWrecked, once I have arranged the relevant sponsorship details with Adam. We will also make custom shirts in small numbers but that is down the track.
We have teamed with a local Western Australian manufacturer so the shirts will be made here in Perth to guarantee the quality. The design of the stock shirts is basically complete, after purchasing all of the images used, and we will start the manufacture next week. I have to put together the numbers for each design and this is the reason for the post.
I would like to know which shirt design you think will be of most interest. This will help me in placing the order in that I get the most of the favored design(s). I am not asking for any commitment or trying to sell anything and am just seeking knowledgeable Members opinions. In time, they will likely be available but I will obey all site rules regarding commercial sales and will launch the business in due course - ignore the website link that will be under the back seam as it won't work.
I would really appreciate you letting me know your thoughts. Set out below are images of the 4 initial designs (Ocean, Nearshore, Beach and Nearshore Pink) and a comment or PM about the designs, or anything in general, would be great. Thanks. Mick

They look shmick Mick, but they are all a bit Hollywood for my liking.
How about something a bit more low key, I would be keen on that.

I've said many times before what you're saying there Mick
Any company wanting me to pay them $60ish dollars to advertise for them seems a bit rich
Good luck with the Venture!

Great stuff
I have never "got" how brands think you should be paying them to carry their advertising
it's like a reverse sponsorship, and I generally just don't do it, esp with fishing shirts, going for the unlogo'ed log sleeve button-up type, just one small brand on it somewhere. I like all of those designs, although the full-on coral reef design with snapper and jew in front look a bit out of place, IMO. ll the others are great, I think it would just be a case of where your particular fishing priorities lie. I'll be in the market for some, for sure.

Bloody Ripper Mick.
At last. It has always irked me that you are expected to pay to advertise a business. My wife says that I have to get one. Good on you Mick. I will be getting one.

I'm with JohnF, can we tick
I'm with JohnF, can we tick the option of no fish on at least the front? A yellow fish on the front would make a fat man like me look like I've spilled the mustard again!!
I could live with the toothy critter on the back.

yeah mate , they look great, great designs. But I prefer the Columbia Bonehead design shirts. Would you maybe consider manufacturing some of these. These bright colours are a bit too much for me.(53 yo) but they do look awesome. Just trying to give you some balanced feedback. Best of luck

My Suggestion
I would go with Nearshore & Nearshore pink for the Ladies, but put the Dhu on the front to highlight W.A.and the beautiful sunsets.

Damn good designs
Yep I'll definitely be in the market for one (hopefully 2) all the designs look very very good, and I'm an oldie. Looking forward to your company launch and all the very best.
Good to see "made in WA" coming to the front of the high quality sports wear.

They look bloody awesome I reckon
I would purchase both the nearshore and the ocean versions.
for something totally unique and perhaps different it would be good to see something like a marroning shirt, and perhaps something like a really cool photo squidding shirt.

just be careful not to make
just be careful not to make the fish too big - might be high ressy pics but once printed up, they do come out a tad pixelated

Thanks Mate
Leemo, Good advice. I have had to pay quite a bit for all the images to ensure that the resolution is suitable for production. I did up some shirts for Jesse and this helped to ensure that the printed product reflected the design. Yes, changes were needed as the original background was too low res. Cheers. Mick

Awesome Member's Comments
Thank you so much for your feedback on the shirts, it is really appreciated. The things I have learned are:
The comments have given me confidence to invest the cash and produce the shirts. I have built my web site, with a lot more things than just shirts, but will not go “live” until everything is ready. I don’t think there is any question that I will sponsor FishWrecked so I can try to provide quality local services/products to Members.

Have you looked at the
Have you looked at the Bigfish shirts? They are really the class leader when it comes to that type of thing in Aus. Some great designs without all the advertising. The shirts are fantastic quality and this makes a big difference.
I have had a few different custom designs made up from a few different suppliers in Aus and overseas.

I like the idea but perhaps
I like the idea but perhaps you could consider having the ability to print additional information on them. For example groups might like to have boat names or fishing clubs printed on them. At Carnarfin and I am sure at other comps, big grouos of anglers have team personalised shirts. However the add-ons tend to blow the price of the shirt up.
cheers

Thanks for the questions. A few weeks and through a web site link that will be advertised through a FW sponsorship. I really appreciate all of the comments from Members about the shirts and will produce a few more designs in the near future. Cheers. Mick

brilliant idea
completely agree, stubby holder branding and selling them is the one that annoys me
no only is the idea good, but listening to feedback will put you on the right track
