lost all chart detail on HDS 10

may be something simple, but i have a navionics card in my HDS 10 gen 2.
i have lost all chart detail, all my spots still there but no detail or contours to speak of.

could it to do with the firmware? Im scared to update it in light of the problems over the last 6 weeks with the GPS rollover date

anyone have any ideas

cheers

Lost chart

Have seen this before on a unit that wasn’t registering the chip was installed. Closer inspection showed that there was some light corrosion on the contacts. Cleaned off card and plotter points as best as we could and card started working again. This was on a gen 1 HDS. Not sure if this will be your issue but something to look for.

If the card isn’t registering in the unit I think you may be able to check as on the navigation page menu, you should only have lowrance chart as an option with navionics chart option missing??

for a starting point get a SD card and back up your waypoints, which everyone should do regularly anyway, then check that the Navionics map is selected, not the lowrance Map, if navionics is selected try to reset the unit or try someone elses map card.

my hds9 was doing the same thing and it was the door that closes over the navionics card that was

hitting the card and making it lose contanct. i had to bend the door a little bit to stop it hitting the card

when closing it.

Do back up first.
Check to see if your sd card has a mini sd in it ,if so take mini out and put it in new large one, then try again.
