From memory Lowrance have a program on their website for this. I used some other program though, it's still a pretty tedious job entering them but far better than entering them on the unit!

is the info already on a card??

if its in a book, there is only one way...one at a time.

even so,its easier inside on the pc if you download the link from the lowrance website, it will give you navionics on your pc... for some reason some older cards will not allow the download......you can then enter all your points, save to a blank card and then put into your machine and save to memory from there.

or you can enter new marks on your machine and transfer to the pc..

it work for me, hds and a navionics platinum card, now i can look at all my marks on my pc, i update it reguarly and this is my back up as well.

just do not use your navionics card...apparantly it can currupt it???? never been willing to try so not sure on that.

cheers

 I have the Elite combo

Tue, 2012-08-28 12:08

I have the Elite combo Gps/Sounder combo. When I bought it, I had to transfer all of my way points from my Garmin GPS to it. I had all the way points saved as a Garmin file on my computer. I downloaded a program called GPSBabel which converts all types of GPS files from one file type to another type. In the program, I chose what the file extension was to start off with and then chose the output file to be Lowrance, USR. It converts all the information to the Lowrance file and then saved it to a SD card for the GPS. Take out your Map card and put in the card with your GPS files and then through the Lowrance, you can save all your files from your card to your GPS. Do not attempt to save any information to your Map card or you may wipe all the information from it. Pretty sure this is the link below. It takes a little bit of getting used to but it's worked for me. Now I back up my sounder every month and convert them to a file that can be veiwed by my map program so I can see where all my spots are.
