Lucky you didn't come

For all you that considered taking up my offer for an all-included fishing trip yesterday your lucky you didn't come. Rain, I've never seen so much rain. Pohnpei is the second wettest place on earth; I have a feeling the country was chasing the number one spot yesterday. I still went out, even though I couldn't see further than 15m in front of the boat at times. Managed two wahoo, a solid barracuda and nice little bluefin trevally. Not too bad considering the conditions.

You're welcome anytime my friend. Nov to Mar is the best time. I'm out next Jan though. Hooked up marlin five trips in a row between Aug and Oct last year though so they are always around. 37 wahoo in the last 5 trips.

Very Exy

Mon, 2012-02-20 17:13

Very Exy Mate. No change out of $1000 from Cairns. And to be honest it's no better than fishing Australian waters most of the time. Just 28 degrees in and out of the water all year. And beer is only $2.50 at the pub..... And Stef Gilmore and Laura Enever and Sally Fitzgibbons come here regularly to surf P-Pass.... Let me tell ya, seeing those girls surfing 10-12ft waves in bikinis is worth every cent of $1000. Google them and reply once you pick up your bottom lip and can walk standing straight up. LOL.

I did some checking out

Mon, 2012-02-20 18:10

I did some checking out of the waves around there mate & no ya not wrong about those lasses, always had a bit of a jones for 'happy' gilmore! In light of female surfers what about Alana Blanchard - my god talk about not walking straight!! the board would be beyond repair if she paddled past

Why

Tue, 2012-02-21 03:47

Why did you do that to me? I just google imaged Alana Blanchard. I might have to save her in my favourites........ She hasn't made it over since I've been here. Laura Enever gave me one of her broken boards so I've been getting all the pros to sign it. Steff Gilmore, Laura, Sally Fitzgibbons, Asher Pacey, Taj Burrows, Mick Fanning...... It is going to be an awesome momento to have in the bar when I get home. Check this website out for the best P-Pass pics.

Soups I just did a check for sept 2012.

No change out of $2000 flights Brisbane, Cairns, Guam, Micronesia.

Still not bad value for a bucket list trip.

Is accommodation cheap??

Pretty cheap I guess. Between and $60 and $80 USD for a double room. Sept might be a little early though. The wahoo and mahi start turning up with the trade winds around mid Oct. Marlin and yellowfin all year round though.....

WA

Back to WA Russ. Next January. Not sure in what role but it will be on GI somewhere. Then it will be back to diving for crays, diving for prawns, scallops and crabs in the river, tailor and whiting off the back beaches of GI, Flatties in the river, Two Rocks, FADS, Exmouth, and deep water fishing (my favourite I think). Looking forward to coming home for sure. There's a little more to life than fishing (not much though) But I wouldn't mind fresh fruit and vegies again some time soon - next ship arrives in two weeks. Cricket and Rugby Union on TV wouldn't go astray either.
