Lure fishing for Tailor on Monday morning

Afternoon All,

Im a little bit over bream and flathead fishing in the swan and want to have a crack at some lure fishing for Tailor tomorrow morning. i haven't fished any beaches/reefy areas N.O.R. before and wouldnt mind some suggestions as to where is good for a early morning Tailor.

Im not looking for secret spots, just point me in the right direction and i will give it a go!!!.

Has anyone had any success with lures and Tailor up that way lately? Comments and advice appreciated.

i would be giving that a crack if i wasnt breaming tomorrow morning! find a nice lookin reef, and cast at it ;) ahahaha. i usualy use mulies, but have had success with richter plugs and poppers. i think Club Capricorn may be faring well at the moment, havnt been since Aussie Day, but i did lose an estimated 70cm+ tailor! do you have a 4wd? really makes adifference!

Club Cap has a lot of reef.

Club Cap has a lot of reef. everywere hahah. theres a car park at the end of the road into Club Cap itself. so you walk down onto the beach. i have found most success on the right hand side of the rock wall, in the little 'bay'. casting towards the NNW, you should pass your lure/bait over reef. we have had tailor take the lures/baits in the open sand though!

Ive never had luck with tailor on roosters, have caught salmon but never tailor. I was fish with my brother once and i was using a richter plug and he was using a rooster, i got 6 or 7 tailor and lost even more, biggest going 61cms, and the rooster didnt get a hit all day. I would take a twisty too, 30-40g.

sorry for the late reply

sorry for the late reply Captain! I personally use the 1oz as i usually fish it with a 2-4kg flicky and 8lb main line. Fishing from shore and a bit heavier gear I'd probably go the 2oz. Skip them along the top definately! How'd you go anyway?
