headed down to a local beach last night in search of sharks and rays . picked cuthbad up at 7.00 and headed down to the beach. we were a little nervouse as the previouse three sessions resulted in : 1st no fish snapped rod and 3rd snapped rod so as you can understand the odds felt like they were stacked against us. firts slides in the water and a good hit on cuthbads bait for no hook up DAMN! out went the second and band i was on backwards and forwards seemed like all night when it hit the beach ... a nice big smooth ray. after that we headed of as it was 1230.

pretty sure it was damaged
pretty sure it was damaged blanks, pretty much brand new rod both times and second one was first cast and a lob at that. still, seeing 2 rods snap within 2 weeks was a little traumatising lol. heart was in my chest watching the first cast on the poseidon last night.

and yea I gotta admit the slide help up well! Seb absolutely destroyed one of those slides in exactly the same spot on a ray about the same size a couple of years back... He was running 80lb braid though and pulled the cr@p out of the thing lol

Nice work brenz, and good to see that the rod is still ok! Hope u have some more fun with that in the future. And yeah the richter slide didnt held up well on my ray there and i'm pretty sure i wont use them again
