Thanks, that's exactly where Im looking at putting it. the installation manual says to keep it off the centreline (keel)but I was hopping that its just glass in this area.
It seems to work for me - picking up fish in 360mtrs recently although only going at 4-5 knots.
Bob there is always the transducer in a bag of water trick. You could turn your gain right down and see which position gives you the stronger signal. I doubt it will alter much.

Keel is thick and will
Keel is thick and will attenuate the beam....I would offset it to the thinner part just off the keel centreline but as low as possible.
However, is this installation works well on the centreline, it will be easier to install.
I would opt for the best option, not the easiest.
Boston Whaler 235 Conquest......getting the flogging it was built for.

Not sure whether there is a difference with the thickness of the glass around this area???
