Magic Weekend

Hi everyone, Who else is getting excited about the weekend? Magic weather, calm and over cast to bring my nemesis the mackerel to the surface for longer. I reckon there will be a few fish caught. Fingers crossed. P.S. Since I am new on here I will quickly introduce myself. I love fishing and spearfishing (DAH), my weapon of choice in a 1.2m Orca but I also love my telescopic SS gidgee passed down from the old man. My comfortable dive depth is about 8-10m but I have reached 15m. And I am a totally hopeless fisherman (both types) so I don’t expect to be posting on the brag board much. Cheers

I am sure you will getting out this weekend and having a good time, whether it is fishing or diving. Remember, the only thing between a good fishermand and a hopeless fishermen is practice. So just keep working at it, and ask plenty of questions on this forum.

I don’t know if it is so much about practice. My old man and I have been fishing all our lives and my wife (new to fishing) seem to always out fish us :) Still good fun though. I like how this site has a dedicated spearfishing section as I like both. Cheers

Lol I know that feeling mate
I took some relos fishing last week and managed one small cobbler and one of my relos - who had barely ever held a fishing rod - caught this cracker of a flathead on a rod and reel I would have consigned to the rubbish tip long ago.

Welcome mate. the weather isn't looking too bad for the weekend up here either. i think the diffrence between those that catch alot and those that dont is how much time you get to spend on the water. in other words how understanding a missus you have.
I live with fear every day... sometimes she lets me go fishing.
