Say Gday
Should have come over and said Gday. Had the Fishwrecked gear on.
We fished some spots around the SW bank first up then headed out deeper. Trolled tuna schools along the way and also YAMAHA FAD. Ended up dropping a couple of time in 260m but the current was too strong to hold bottom. Worked our way back to a spot west of Becher Point (South end Warnbro sound) then headed back to Mandurah.
Even with all that we got the boat out the water around 2:15 as the weather wasnt the best.
Thought we went close on a couple of species but still ended up with nothing to show for our trouble.

Mandurah
Hmmmm I had a bad day.....broke a rod....again.
Then chucked another overboard....which I dived in and retreived....loosing my wallet in the process
Wasnt much difference in weight between some of the smaller species....The winning whiting was only 9g more than third!!!!
The scales used coped some comments .... one guy who want his fish reweighed believed his KG weighed more than the winners
Windy as hell by midday making it a wet drive back from James Service reef...didnt matter I was already wet!!!!!

Nothing wrong with the scales
Our boat won the biggest herring by 2g, can you believe it 2g. It weighed a whopping 200g what a monster lol, can't complain it won us the money. The bloke who landed it wasn't even going to weigh it in. Long live the humble Herring

Win
Well done on the Win. Go the humble Herring.
Wasnt really a massive number of top fish weighed inwas there. Weighin went heaps faster than last year too because of it.

Not wrong there Tim
I thought some off the species where well under the mark. The Skippy, Sand Whiting, Game, Herring and Baldie where all on the small side. The Flathead was a good fish and the five grand Snapper(half the size of the Cockburn sound fish) was ok, still good fun and i will go again next year.
Cheers

YEP
YEP agree with you. The Pinky was a nice looking fishand the flatty not bad but the gamefish Skippy and Baldy did look way below par.
I think the Tuna was 2.7kg, Skippy under 1Kg and Baldy 3. something Kg. Certainly not monsters by any standards. Will be there again next year again too.
