Went out to a local beach last night with Scano and Bodie and Bodie outdid us with 2 really nice sized tailor!
Biggest went 45cm!
We first went to Grant street but it was way to windy then tryed Cott groyne with no luck. We then went to a beach nearby where Bodie got the tailor.
I had a live herring out that got chomped clean in half

yeah Bodie did well, nice
yeah Bodie did well, nice size taylor especially for this time of year.
it must have been that excalibur of a rod you were using mate! hahah
14 feet of casting brilliance, was a really nice rod.
Marc and i were only fishing with 8 footers and although were only about 20-40m short of where bodie was casting we didn't get nearly as many bites that is for sure. Mind you casting with that strong wind was certainly a bit of a mission, especially when it got dark and the wind and swell just kept picking up.
good to get out for a midweek fish once again, no doubt we will have to hit it again next wednesday.

Yep the snyder glas - Mag
Yep the snyder glas - Mag surf white tip rod does it again :)
Love that rob, gonna go guy another spool for the penn 850 and put 15lb on it :)
I find the 12-14ft rods so much easer to use from the beach, probably overkil for the beach we were at but none the less!
I rkn during salmon season iw as casting the 70g lures 100 metres or so. The additional couple of feete really give that extra fling to the rod
Cheers

Yeah the tailor I caught
Yeah the tailor I caught with kaitan was on my Sol 3000 and I was using a 7' TD Tierra running 15lb braid... using a 40g knight metal slice.... was casting it behind a reef in a spot my boss at Bluewater told me about a while back...
same thing tho, had to cast quite far out, but with the 40g slice, wind was no problem... was getting 100m+ quite easy
Great spot... bit dangerous tho :P not for kaitan the monkey boy lol climbs up rocks like a crab

yeah I hate bait :P Mainly
yeah I hate bait :P Mainly cos im just so bloody lazy... so part of my persistence with lures is not due to my motivation, but due to laziness not to use bait lol
I like these metal slices tho hey, you can cast them bloody ages!
