This is my report from my last weekend down south. (Margaret River Region)

Saturday:

Headed down to the Rivermouth for a fish. Fished for about 3h and was only rewarded by 2 tiny bream on bait and a herring on fly (and my mate got a tiny bream on a lure which he foul hooked). Later at night as we were at a friends house for dinner in Busselton my mate and I went and fished the marina for bream, ended up with 3 Tailor, a Snook, a Small Snapper and some random un-identifiable fish. Great time, after dinner we went out again to the marina walls in search for mulloway but we needed to catch some bait first. The only thing that took out bait was a 3 and a half kilo Sea Sweep which we lost as only using 2kg line so we tried to gaff it, AKA: no bait out for mulloway :( (If only I had kept that snook for bait!!! :( ) In the end we fished there for 5h and the video can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np-voC2ABmo

Sunday:

Took the ‘yaks out and headed up the river for a 3 and a half hour sesh and we had a lot of fun!!  The bream were all 20cm+, which is good size for the Margaret. Got about 15 from the yak and land based. The biggest was 27cm and was taken on a gulp crabby 2” (great lures and would highly recommend (not affiliated) ) Over all a great day, You can see the video at: http://youtube.com/watch?v=CQTRPC8oxlA

PS: Good work to the Firefighters whom fought the Prevelly fires as they did a great job, there is so much burned bushland and most of the fires have burned peoples front yards even but those awesome firefighters put is out in time and saved many homes…They did a great job.
