Marine rescue app

I was just watching reel action fishing show and they were advertising a marine rescue app that u can fill out all your details on and from what i can see log in and off using it.
Im guessing as per alot of things there is alot more funding for things on the east coast but why not get it for the west coast aswell as i recon you would probably double the amount of people logging in/out if using it.
Has anybody else seen it or used it?

As far as I know, it is not in use in WA.
Logging on an off via radio has many advantages over an app. It checks your radios function, has greater range, enables sea rescue to RDF you, and is not limited to cellular coverage areas.

I myself much prefer to use
I myself much prefer to use the radio but i guess the more options people have the more chances that they will log on.

There's an app from Marine
There's an app from Marine Rescue called Safe Trx. Its free to use. Handy where I am as there is no one to log on with.
