The only really well known spots are
the Harvey and Wellington dams. The amount of people at Harvey last year was the most I've ever seen in 3 seasons of Marroning. Quite literally could not find a spare bank one night.
You'll struggle to get exact locations other than the general systems which people fish. I'm away this weekend but going to give the Murray an explore next weekend - it's a big system so hopefully there will be a few untapped locations...
Download the marron rec fishing brochure, pick a river/dam and go from there. A lot of it is trial and error.

Yep
Might go down and give the Blackwood a crack I reckon rather find a spot on a river in the bush somewhere than tromp around on the banks of a dam with the hoards , cheers for that hopefully get some results .

From past experience
Living on the Harvey on Stansfield Rd (old house now under water in the Dam) low water levels appear to warm the water and make Marron a little more active. Also some theorise that less water concentrate them up, but I just find that this has little effect as they are very aggressive towards each other.
Once the water stagnate though its another issue as they aren't fond off still water in the wild. Marron ponds for farming is constantly aerated to prevent this.

water is so low around
water is so low around collie area that many catchments have dried up and marron have been walking. News is that fisheries and recfish members have been relocating them to more permanent waterways so as said above i would be looking at any of the deeper catchments search google earth

Yarloop has gone almost, Southbound has been cancelled. The southwest is almost isolated aside from a huge drive via Boddington and across to Collie.

Haha
Made that joke to my mates last night. No need to bring the gear down next weekend.
Can they actually survive a bushfire? I imagine the shallower areas probably not but in the deeper pools they might stand a chance?

Dont think they have the slightest worry
Takes one hell off a fire to boil water in moving or even stagnant streams no matter how hot the fire is.
