Not quite the 275 but ive got
Not quite the 275 but ive got a 150hp verado and I havnt had any problems with it, super quiet where you cant even tell its on and takes off like a 2 stroke with heaps of grunt. I will say though they can be thirsty when you go over 4500 revs, under that fuel usage is like any other 4 stroke. Thats due to the supercharger perhaps im not sure.

Verado is basically identical
Verado is basically identical to the 225 and 250 and 300, just more/less boost.
First generation (up to 2007) had a few issues, second generation pretty good. A complicated motor with supercharger but good yank engineering. 2 stroke Torque with 4 stroke economy.
My 250 (second gen) has been great. Mate had twin 225's (first gen) only issue he has had in 400 hrs is it spat a pinion gear and needed a new leg.
I would probably choose a Yammie if I got a new motor, but it is a good boat, I would not let the Verado put you off as long as it has been serviced well.
Boston Whaler 235 Conquest......getting the flogging it was built for.

Have a 2013 Verado 250 on my Patriot and it runs like a dream, like Merdel said it's extremely quite. Have had no issues but to be honest I've only had the boat for 2 months.
