metal lures single hooks

Say for something like a 40gram Twisty I am thinking of a Siwash hook of either 4/0 or 5/0. I think the 4/0 is ok but will the 5/0 throw it out of balance at all? Using lure for tailor and salmon.

Decoy sergent jigging singles in different sizes to suit the lure. Great hooks with oversized eyes for stronger split rings.

Personally found that with singles it may be slightly harder to hook the fish but unlike trebles it's usually lodged in the fishes mouth rather than jagged in the face/chin/flank etc.

I use the same, and recently changed all trebles on stickbaits, and trolling divers ... I saw few trebles straightened before, 4x Owner ones. Also as mentioned, much easier to unhook, even when keeping the catch, less chance to end up with a hook into your hands.

use live bait hooks because the eye of the hook sits strait with the shank

Less hook ups

Less hook ups but the ones you hook stay on better than with trebles. If the fish come on the bight like Salmon and Tailor do i prefer the single so i can release unwanted fish without much damage to their mouth.
