Metro Pelagics

Water tempertures seem reasonable, but not seeing or hearing much inshore Metro Mack action.
We thrashed the water to foam last week, from Hillarys to Mindarie, and didnt see a thing. Not even any birds working in close. Anyone else had any joy?

Mate caught a nice sharkie
Mate caught a nice sharkie at West End yesterday. Personally I prefer to eat them over spaniards but like catching spaniards more.

My mate caught them at the trench the day after Boxing Day, and I ate the sushi the next day! He was the same guy that caught the sharkie on Monday at West End. Also been getting some YTK's.

Very small tuna working off
Very small tuna working off Mindarie in that 10k range offshore, very hard to see the schools with little bird activity and they were moving quickly but the tuna were actively hitting lures when placed in the right spot.

Find the bait find the .........
Bait is just about more important for inshore macks than water temp ive found,
Our last couple of trolls s.o.r has shown not much bait below the 30,s , which makes it just that bit harder again , as if
metro macks arent hard enough to start with haha ,,,, crays ran a bit later this year , and mandurah crabs size wise think its december ,
so im picking bait , and bigger things eating bait will be later in feb.......

Hooked a Spaniard today out behind GI
Wasn't targeting them .....was drift baiting a really large mulie when the other rod went off, big dhu, as I was by myself I was worried the braid would cross so after getting the dhu about ten metres off the bottom I turned to the drift bait rod and cranked it in as fast as I could.....you guessed it the Spaniard took a liking giving me a real predicament ......final outcome, Spaniard lost at the boat whilst trying to get a net under it it bit through the trace.
Rub salt into the wound, got the dhu up only to have a humongous bronzie decide it wanted it more than me. first dhu EVER lost to a bloody Noah .....never seen it before
