Yep getting amongst it is the only way to learn. Guys on the forum are more than happy to help with questions regarding tackle, rigs, setups, etc, but when you start saying things like I can't be bothered putting any effort in can you give me your spots so I can catch big fish, well that's why you haven't received any replies. You are always going to have days where you won't catch a thing. Time spent on the water will over time make you a better fisherman, much more so than browsing online.

Oh fair enough mate. Just stick at it and in time you will land a big one, don't get frustrated when you go fishless. If travel is an issue can you fish locally instead of traveling?

There's alot of sand whiting and cobbler in the marina. Have seen people catching herring and a couple of tailor where the boardwalk is too

Ocean reef

Ocean reaf off the rock wall is good for tailor and herring in morning , if ya happy to go off rocks , heard of mulla getting caught at night of the north facing rocks but never had much luck myself,

Just remember a bad day fishing still beats a good day at Work,

my old man taught me to fish , and I lost him years ago id give anything for a day fishing with him again regardless if i caught or not .

My only other advise is just cherish the quality Time mate ,
