Mindarie Mackerel - Post for JohnF's son.

John's son, Rob, scored his first Mack this afternoon. Hotdogs (Chrisp), also landed a nice Mack shortly after.
Rob will grow up to be a good fisho, so it's a rewarding feeling having the young bloke tangle with a nice fish at an early age. John was probably more stoked than Rob.

halcos & rapala's. They all work - Macks aren't too fussy. Plus, there are a few around.

couple of nice macks.
i would prob put the tubes on the other side of the rail before one of my rigs went in it.That way it is pulling against the rail rather than the 100 mile an hour tape and a couple of zippy ties.
So tell me have you got your info from years on the water or hours on the internet?

Mate, the 100 mile an hour
Mate, the 100 mile an hour tape would survive a marlin strike with 20 kg drag!! It was not fancy, but was definately cheap. A bit out of place on the Riv, but did the trick at short notice. The majority of strikes were on the centre two rods on the jerry rigged rod holders......no problems.....touch wood.
Real pleasure trolling on the big rig. Auto pilot looked after all the steering, had the sounder and GPs up on the big screen LCD so the lads at the back of the boat could see what was going on, we just sat back and waited for the drags to buzz.
