Mindarie Night Fish - DELAYED until 28th October
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Sat, 2006-10-21 11:52
The Mindarie Night fishing invitational has been put back until the 28th of October.
The conditions are very hard to determine at the moment as it could go either way. I have just left Observation city and its blowing about 15 knots to the north west with solid whitecaps starting to form. I watched a few boats moving about and they were taking a fair bit of spray and get lurched about the place a bit.
I am thinking for the safety of all involved that tonight isn't the best choice, even though some may wish to brave the conditions, most that I have spoken to have decided to give it a miss until next week where things may improve.
Cheers,
Adam

Gardening duty today!!
I just checked and its blowing 35knots out there at the moment. She's windy as Warnie after a bowl of baked beans.
Wise move to postpone.
Cheers

Blowing
Wen't for a ride on the bike earlier. Hard yakka keeping it in a straight line heading north on Mitchell Freeway.
Certainly blowing alright.

Yup
Mid afternoon when it started howling I was certainly happy that I was indoors and not out there. Then I see bouttimes 20 released snap snaps, made me think twice about the decision.
Sure this Saturday will be better thou, even thou I've fishing planned for thurs and friday, might be a mess by saturday night. Atleast I might have caught a fish tho. :)

Time off
I just finished working for a Malaysian businessman that I had been personal assistant to for the last 4 years Jay. I'm now 4 weeks away from completing my management degree, so have decided to take the time off until Chrissie and am doing odd jobs with another company to get some $ in the bank. Also focusing on getting fishwrecked to the next level and making sure it is the first place you come and visit when your on the web. :)

Next level
The next level is getting a basic online store up for the fishwrecked merchandise, getting a few more advertisers sign up who will be willing to give prizes for the photo of the month competition, a fishwrecked dvd which is in the works. Plenty of things that will make this site better for all involved, well, thats my plan anyway. :)
Seabreeze is showing that saturday is going to be a blow out again, very early prediction, wonder if they will get it right this week. Heard from a few others that said last saturday was very scarey to be on the water, quite a few times they had waves almost break over the boat. Not what I call ideal conditions!

Mindarie Night fish - DRINKS
Had a top suggestion from Salmo that if the Night Fishing Invitational doesn't go ahead this Saturday that we should all meet up for some drinks, I'll save a water for you Street. :) Just need to decide a location that is in the middle for the south of the river people and the northerners. I am in between both so am easy, anyone got any suggestions on a good pub that has got some space to handle rowdy fisho's, the Whitesands is one that has been discussed. Any ideas and is anyone keen?

Beer No Fish
Guys, Looking at the weather I will be heading out for a morning fish and skipping the evening session. Looks like its set to blow up again in the evening.
If I have the energy I will be up for a beer, just name the pub and I will try and make it.
Of course if the weather improves significantly and I get back early (on a mates boat, not mine) I still might hook the boat on the Paj and head down to the marina for an inshore bash, but at this stage it is looking highly unlikely for me.
Cheers

Latest forecast is for big southerlies in arvo/evening
I'm making an early call and definately going out in the morning on a mates boat instead. Hope those that brave the conditions stay safe and have great night.
Seems Adam and Gully must have picked up a few fish, they haven't come on line yet, still out there probably, either that or still filleting. Hope to see some pics of today's action onsite later on.
So if you guys end up going for a beer instead just let me know where and I'll try and make it.
Cheers
