Mixed Bag off Canal Rocks

Got out early, and they were a bit picky. Picked up a Queenie, Nannygai and Blackarse then the wind changed sharply to Nor'west.
That's when the Dhuies came on the bite . Tim's Big one weighed in at 16kg
The other fish were good size around 500mm.
The smaller Dhu I'm guessing 6kg and 750mm
All bagged up ready for the freezer 6kg of fillets and wings

hey micky
yeah thought so pal, just spoke to tim a few mins ago, a mate got badly harrassed by a pro toady off sugarloaf, this dude reall tried to muscle him out of the wate, yelling tons of abuse etc, says hes sick of amateur fishermen, funny thing is that he drove up to my mate whom was there by himself for a hr before he showed up,
we got ours early saw budda out there also, we got 1 and come home, couldnt hold bottom mate, very north off the cape, solid dhue mate,
catch up soon !!

Nice haul. I headed down to
Nice haul. I headed down to canals this morning but had started raining just as I got there and didn't let up so didn't put the boat in the water. Woke up real early but went back to bed as it was windy out. By the time I got up it was just as windy but the ocean looked pretty decent which was odd. Shoulda gone the early time, doh.

Hey Matt, that wind was weird
Hey Matt, that wind was weird today. It was Noreast in the morning where it has been southeast most days, we hit the ramp at 6.00am as we went out wide it picked up slightly,
No whitecaps though, but there was a strong southerly current belting through which made it hard to hold bottom.
The rain hit us just as the wind swung Norwest, that's when the dhuies came on the bite, about 8.45am. Was a slow haul home, but fruifull.

Nice work mate. Looks like
Nice work mate. Looks like you had a great morning in not ideal conditions. Took Dave out today and probable had one of my worst days in a while. The current was very strong, we were drifting at around 2.5kts with the bag out. Also got pingged by a pro boat called Legend. He came within 10m of us at one stage and was getting in front of my drift line. As we were drifting faster than him I had to move a couple of times to avoid drifting into him. I asked him why he had to come and fish right on top of us with plenty of other spots out there and he yelled back at me that he gets pingged all the time by recs and couldnt give a shit about what I thought. What a complete tosser. Must have been struggling to find fish. He is running a charter down here now and with that attitude it wont last long.

He was out there a couple of
He was out there a couple of days ago Brendan, I think he was moored at Canal Rocks.
At $330 pp he will struggle to get punters anyway. Dickhead is always going to get pinged at this time of the year,as do we all.
He should be more courteous towards the locals, as word of mouth spreads very fast.
Did you manage to land Dave a fish or two ?

No dhuys but a couple of other fish. Had some good fish showing on my sounder but struggled to get a bite. Was spewing I couldn't get Dave onto a decent Dhuy specially as he knows how well we have been doing lately. I spose thats fishing though, its never guaranteed.

New Latches
Hi Manoverboard
Would you like some new stainless latches for that cooler box? Looks like the old elastic ones have had their day. Happy to supply some for free.

We always leave the skin on
We always leave the skin on when freezing fish, it's easy to identify and once defrosted skin comes away sweet.
