Best boating areas?
Proposals for 700sq km farms off kalbarri , dongara , garden island , mandurah and bunbury ...
Matters of access to the public have not been decieded in those areas yet ......a very sobering and ominous read ..

What I don't understand is
What I don't understand is that with the extremely high cost of maintenance for offshore farms and the abundance of land, why it is even a thought.

Higher wind speeds and
Higher wind speeds and consistancy Swompa, plus massive noise complaints onshore.
What are the potential impacts upon the commercial fishing sector?
The construction and operation of wind turbines could impact commercial fishing in a variety of ways, including:
Displacing commercial fishers from traditional fishing areas Loss of benthic habitat
Changing the distribution, abundance, and species composition of fish in an area
Increasing vessel traffic and competition for support services on shore
Impacts from electromagnetic fields and underwater noise
Disrupting vessel radar systems Causing economic losses
Damaging or destroying fishing gear
Reducing safety at sea from increased vessel traffic and navigation challenges.
Both sectors will need to work togther although the above will have some impact, no liking the electromagnetic fields and noise bit...although offshore work platforms are very noise but yet still hold massive amount of fish and sea life.
Basically more offshore reefs being added to the sysetm, will only be benifit to rec fishers.

Dont need higher wind
Dont need higher wind speeds, just consistancy. There is solid reasoning behind most commercial wind farms going in the mid west with more investment in the central west (Hyden) in the short term future.
Lighter winds = bigger blades
We spend huge amounts of money on maintenance of smaller wind farms based on land. the prospect of throwing boats and helicopters in the mix for maintenance is scary....but fun at the same time.
But first we need more batteries to store what we can generate to start with.

Heaps of wind turbines in storage? What a load of rubbish!
