Mounting Sounder

I have just got a new sounder, but the factory mount means the sounder is up against the curved part of the windscreen and that means I cant pull it up to remove it
when stored so the sounder doesnt get stolen, (I'm sure a theif would have not problem smashing it out sadly).
Has anybody used a ram mount to bring the sounder forward and does it keep the unit stable, because if it keeps dropping, that would be annoying.
Aslo, how to drill a srew hole when the windscreen curves above the hole and you cant get a drill in there.
So many problems from a simple upgrade.

You can get some large ram
You can get some large ram mounts that seem to do the job well on some quite large units.
Right angle drill is the tool you need for drilling into tight spaces. Quite cheap attachments can be had from eBay if it’s just a once off.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

I used a RAM mount in a tinny once - no problems with holding it secure although was only an Elite 5 sounder

I used a ram mount on my old tinny as well.
I used it on my Lowrance elite 5 without any issues.
I did buy 316 stainless nyloc nuts and bolts to minimise corrosion.
It didnt move at all and easy to install and remove.

Not sure where u are located but I have an air operated right angle drill u can borrow to use.

Had the same problem on my dash with my 585, I made up an ali offset mount so it hangs just over the dash and away from the window.

Ram mounts are excellent, just get one to match the size of the unit.
