Mulloway bash - help
Submitted by buschy on Sat, 2011-01-22 21:52
Hey folks - heading out after the next new moon for a bit of a mulloway bash. Let's just say it's been a while between drinks, with a newborn and a new business fishing has been on hold of late.
If things go to plan I will head up to Wedge or Hill River but I might not be able to go that far. I'd like to find a spot fairly locally that turns up the mulla's on a fairly regular basis - preferably a beach and somewhere that I can fish from or at least close to the 4x4.
Not asking for your secret spot, but if you want to help me out and break my mulla drought I would be more than grateful.
Thanks all,
Buschy

I'm Guessing
you meant Boodjidup Beach, South of Prevelly. That is a nice stretch year round for a variety of fish.
I'd be trying around Northern Mandurah beaches, San Remo, Melros, Singelton, Golden Bay or even Secret Harbour.

north of two rocks
Mate my sugustion would be to head along 1 of the 4x4 tracks north of two rocks that follow the coast along. Just keep poping into the beach for a look for a nice gutter. You can sometimes drive along the beach itself but it can get very narrow and soft at times. Ive caught a few up that way over the last few years and have also heard of others doing well along that stretch. Ruffly half way between two rocks and moore river has been a good spot to check. The water theres is a bit deeper then up wedge way. Theres often tailor all along there too so uve got a good chance of getting the best/freshest bait u can ;) Good luck mate!
