Mundine being stupid. Again.

Calling for an indigenous boycott of the Australian national anthem during the grand final. He's not even thinking for himself...NFL players have been doing it for over a month, citing "racial injustice".
What the cumb dunt doesn't realise, is that he's hurting the cause more than helping it due to nobody being silly enough to listen to him.

Mundine
I'm pretty sure we already said sorry for the way we treated the original inhabitants of the land and have formally handed over ownership of large parcels of land to those inhabitants which I agree with, but the first settlers were only acting in a way they knew how at the time.
We as a country are failing many groups of the community but saying we shouldn't advance australia is not a way forward in my opinion.

Spot on boys, wouldn't even
Spot on boys, wouldn't even be discussing it now. There is a big gap between what society provides the indigenous and what the indigenous provide society. One way street big time and this needs to be realised or we will never move on as a collective group. As my old man used to say to me when Id have a whinge, 'Don't get bitter, get better, if its out of your circle of influence and you cannot change anything, move on, don't dwell on the past......'
Of course this will not happen in my lifetime unfortunately

What changed?
He's changed his views because he saw American gridiron players sitting/kneeling/raising fists during THEIR national anthem, in protest of "racial injustice". There have been a number of RECENT incidents over there, involving (mostly) white police officers and black citizens.
Mundine has taken this lead and is attempting to somehow superimpose it here in Australia. Different situation and clearly seems as if he's trying to anoint himself as "The Great Purveyor of Justice".
Well done to Buddy...there's a bloke the indigenous people of Australia can be proud of!

Even in the deepest jungles
Even in the deepest jungles of the Amazon and PNG there are 'primitive' tribes that successfully interact the outside world and have items like ipods and you know... clothes.
Are you saying the Indigenous Australians would have been incapable of making a similar transition if Australia had not been colonised?

I'm not being racist but the indigenous didn't change their way of living in the 40,000 years before whiteys arrived. Are you saying it would have only taken another 200 years to go from wanderers to building an iPod?
People in the Amazon and PNG still interact with outsiders as you say. Australia is an island a long way from anywhere.
Don't forget, the anglo's crossed oceans and arrived in a boat they built - a vast difference in the development of those societies.

The tribes in Saudi Arabia
The tribes in Saudi Arabia have done ok going from wanderers to buying iPods in the last 80 years or so.
Until the days of exploration the world was very different place and nomadic societies across the globe have since become part of a global society and even the most remote tribes that live in isolation interact with the outside world for trade.
Obviously if the English didn't colonise Australia then one of the other major colonial countries would have and the outcome for the aborigines would arguably been worse.
All I was trying to say was, if you were indigenous, how would you feel about the tone of some of the above posts including those that have been deleted by the admin. Mundine is trying to create a 'them and us' mentallity so let's not fall into the trap of taking a crack at our indigenous and their way of life before we arrived and lets call Mundine out for what he is... a racist with extremist views with the credibility of a 4 day old bag of mulies.

Lol ive caught fish on 4 day mulies .black pink white or purple however you look at it mundine is a class A flogga and does more harm than good. I read somewhere that he is taking a lead from black American football players taking exception to the American anthem written in the 1700s when the blacks were slaves. Bit different to ours written well after first settlers arrived and accommodates all aussies. Also not like the afl has done anything for the indegenous sarcasm .

To be precise, Willlo...
...the Star Spangled Banner was written, in 1814, by an amateur poet on a battlefield during the War of 1812, against the British. But you're spot on...very different circumstances and yes, slavery was in full swing and accepted by many Americans.

if all australians are to be united we need to stop trying to put guilt /manipulation on this generation for the evils of the past generations
australias early beginings dont differ much from other countries across the globe who where invaded , colonised or conqured in some form by some other mob than the original inhabitants
they did what was the ''norm '' so to speak for their era, we all now need to recognise it, but let it go and create a better society
i treat people as i find them , just happens that as humans regardless of race their are some real numbies out there who use their voices to create division ,
mundine is one of them imo

I came to Australia in 1983. Settled and grew in Melbourne. Compared to back then, Australia is now a very cultural society and most of us have managed to happily co-exist.

I just love the fact that the anthem was actually sung by Vika and Linda Bull. I'm not 100% sure but they are at least partly indigenous, are they not. Bloody well sung as well. One of the best renditions of the anthem.
I did then the best that I knew how. When I knew better, I did better.

Mundine is a racist
Giving Australian land to Aboriginies only and locking out Australians was and is imo completely wrong, already we have set up a divide between " us and them ".
I also believe the media has alot to answer for.
Giving airtime to a grub called Mundine is borderline reckless.
