My PB Golden Trevally on a straight hook…and maybe POTM..

…got this off Leeman on Sunday, we are almost 99% sure it's a Golden Trevally, weighing in at 18.22Kgs and hopefully a new world record which is currently at 15.42Kgs

Congrats man, awesome fish certainly looks like a monster Golden Trevally to me!
The australian spearfishing record for Golden Trevally listed in the AUF record book is 18.40kg taken by A. Sprenger at Double Island Pt, QLD on the 26/05/06 so you're within a few hundred grams of that and I think its safe to say you've smashed the West Oz record!
Amazing catch mate, that's one hell of a fish to spear out from Leeman you gotta be stoked with that!!

how accurate are those sites?
how accurate are those sites? just having a scroll through there, some epic fish but some of them i find very hard to believe...... for example a 24kg dhu fish off rotto (in pic doesnt look anything like that....? and most of the ones that sound inaccurate are from pre 2000's. what do you think?

All fish on those sites would have been weighed on certified scales with a length and girth measurement recorded. That dhu record has stood for a long long time and the guys who would have witnessed it have been trying to break it ever since.
